SUMMARY:Clean PowerED West Virginia: Education & Leadership Cohort
DESCRIPTION:Clean PowerED West Virginia is an educational leadership program led by the KidWind Project\, with support from Toyota and Clearway Energy. This 12-month program is designed to help educators from Grant and Mineral Counties\, West Virginia integrate clean energy education into their classrooms and schools. \nUp to five educators—both formal and informal—will be selected to participate. They will receive training\, materials\, and support from KidWind to bring clean energy concepts to life in their classrooms. Participants will also have access to regional experts\, curricular resources\, and a range of tools to support their success. \nAfter completing their training\, educators will be required to organize at least one outreach event to share clean energy education with their peers. This could include hosting a training session\, attending a regional education conference\, organizing a KidWind Challenge\, or leading another project that excites them. \nProgram Details: \n\nAPRIL 7\, 2025 – APPLICATIONS CLOSE\nAPRIL 15\, 2025 – Decision notifications\nMAY 2025 – Orientation webinar\nJULY 2025 – Attend 5 Day REcharge Academy at Macalester College in Saint Paul\, MN\nAUGUST 2025 – Classroom & Outreach Planning \nFALL /WINTER/SPRING 2025-26 – Monthly meetings\nAPRIL 2026 – Share success stories about program\n\nParticipants Will Receive: \n\n$3\,000 stipend (paid in four installments) per teacher\nFull Tuition\, Lodging and Travel to the 2025 REcharge Academy\n$1\,000 materials budget per teacher to procure classroom resources\nAccess to leading subject matter experts in the region\, as well as coaching from the KidWind Team

SUMMARY:New Orleans KidWind Challenge
DESCRIPTION:We invite you to attend the KidWind Challenge\, a collaborative showcase celebrating our university’s partnership with KidWind and schools across Orleans Parish under the WE LEAD NOLA program. This event highlights student innovation and renewable energy education in our community. \nThe challenge is a hands-on design competition in which teams present and test their small-scale wind turbine designs that they have constructed. Students\, led by their teachers\, will build bring their prototypes  to test a mini wind tunnel. Teams will also have the opportunity to present to the judges to explain their designs and reasoning for developed of their devices. \nThe winning team will earn the chance to compete at KidWind Worlds\, where they will represent our region against teams from over 60 cities nationwide.
