In this new version of the Solar Challenge\, student teams in grades 4th-12th participate in age-level divisions to create a solar powered project on the theme Solar Home. A solar home is a type of structure that considers the environment\, the inhabitants\, and its functional and aesthetic design. DESCRIPTION:Each month we’ll host a session taking a deeper dive into a technical component of designing a wind turbine or solar structure for competition\, from blade design to gearboxes. We’ll host a few students each month with experience on that topic to share what they’ve learned along the way. All KidWinders are invited – students\, educators\, coaches\, etc. \n\nTeachers are eligible for 1 contact hour of professional development credit upon request after completion of this webinar. Those wishing to receive contact hours must attend the entirety of the webinar\, and we ask that they have their camera on if possible.
