SUMMARY:The 6th Annual RI WindWinRI Wind Turbine Challenge
DESCRIPTION:The 6th Annual RI Wind Turbine Competition is open to all RI high school and middle school student teams. The high school teams can choose to compete in the KidWind generator or Advanced-homemade generator category.   Middle school teams will be focused on blade design and will competing in a new category using a KidWind Firefly. \nThe Challenge is comprised of low and hire speed tunnel testing\, team interviews with judges from industry and higher education\, evaluation of each team’s workspace & poster design and an Instant Challenge. \nThe winning high school team in both generator categories qualifies for an invitation to KidWind World Competition – held this year in Wisconsin. \nParents and observers are welcome to attend.

SUMMARY:WindWinRI Annual Wind Turbine Competition
DESCRIPTION:This is the 5th Annual WindWinRI Wind Turbine Competition for High School Students. It will be held on Saturday\, March 22nd at the Community College of Rhode Island\, Knight Campus in Warwick\, RI. \nCompeting in their chosen category: basic (KidWind) or advanced (home-built) generators.  Student teams will be judged by industry experts on their wind turbine performance\, their verbal and written engineering documentation\, knowledge and critical thinking\, and their response to a real-life offshore wind industry challenge. \nThis is a qualifying event for the annual KidWind World Challange. Winning teams will be invited to travel to Phoenix\, Arizona for the Worlds. \nRhode Island Teams have excelled and been recognized in every visit to past KidWind Challanges.
