The third annual Michigan KidWind Challenge is a wind turbine construction and testing event for students in grades 4-5, 6-8, and 9-12. Grade-level students will design, build, test, and compete using innovative wind turbine blade geometries and gearing solutions. Winners in each grade category will be invited to attend the 2026 World KidWind Challenge at the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus from May 17th-20th.
At the Michigan KidWind Challenge, student teams will:
● Test their energy output in a competition-grade wind tunnel
● Present their teams design, data, and overall story in front of a panel of expert judges
