Lynchburg Regional Challenge

Lynchburg Regional Challenge

Join JMU’s The Center for the Advancement of Sustainable Energy (CASE) and The Future Focus Foundation at Randolph College for a Regional Kidwind Renewable Energy Challenge on March 30th, 2025. This Kidwind Challenge is part of Randolph College’s SciFest, and will be open to SciFest visitors.

The Virginia Renewable Energy KidWind Challenge is a hands-on design celebration that engages students through the lens of wind and solar energy. Student teams design, construct and test small scale wind turbines and solar structures. On the day of the challenge, teams meet with a panel of expert judges to present their project design process, take a knowledge quiz to demonstrate their renewable energy expertise, and wind teams test their project for energy output in the Kidwind Wind Tunnel.

Check out CASE’s website for more details on how to be involved with this challenge!
