South Dakota Wind and Solar Challenge!

Bring your wind turbine and/or solar home to the 2nd annual South Dakota Wind and Solar Challenge!  Wind Teams will be scored by maximum energy generation at two wind tunnel speeds, understanding of the science supporting their project, and an “instant on-site challenge!”

Doors will open to competitors at 10 a.m., with wind tunnel and solar testing begging at 11 a.m.  We should end the day at 2:30 p.m.  Competition categories include 4-5th grade, 6-8th grade, 9-12th grade.  Guidelines for turbine and solar home construction are available at kidwind.org/challenges/rules.  We will have two 4-foot wind tunnels to test turbines with wind speeds from 2 m/s to 5 m/s.

Lunch, snacks and drinks will be provided!  See you there!
