The second annual Michigan KidWind Challenge is a wind turbine construct and testing event for grades 4-5, 6-8, 9-12. Grade-level students will design, build, test and compete using innovative wind turbine blade geometries and gearing solutions. Winners in each grade category will be invited to attend the 2025 World KidWind Challenge at the Pheonix Convention Center, in Phoenix, AZ. The World event will be held from Sunday, May 18th – Wednesday, May 21st, 2025
At the Michigan KidWind Challenge, student teams will:
● Test their energy output in a competition-grade wind tunnel
● Present their teams design, data, and overall story in front of a panel of expert judges
