WE LEAD NOLA Workshop

The 2025-26 Wind Energy Leadership, Education & Academic Development of New Orleans (WE LEAD NOLA) Program is a three-month program is focused on New Orleans’ high school educators to help them learn more about offshore wind and related career opportunities for their students. This program will accept twelve WE LEAD NOLA Associates from Orleans Parish schools and will provide training and materials to help bring offshore wind energy to life in their classrooms.

Program Requirements

• Applicants cannot be former WE LEAD NOLA Associates
• Applicants must be high school STEM teachers from Orleans Parish schools
• Attend an in-person KidWind training workshop on January 17th, 2026
• Organize and mentor at least 1 team of students to participate in the KidWind Offshore Wind Challenge in Spring 2026

WE LEAD Associates Receive

• Materials: Teachers will receive a class set of materials to support wind turbine design, building, and testing
• Stipends: Teachers will receive a total of $500 for their participation
• Teacher Support: KidWind will offer 3 virtual webinars in early 2026 for teachers to provide a space for tips, coaching, and troubleshooting as they implement the curriculum in their classrooms
• Winning teams of the WE LEAD KidWind Challenge will be eligible for prizes and invitation to the 2026 KidWind World Challenge
