Sunshine in a Jar - Solar Lantern Kit

The Sunshine in a Jar – Solar Lantern Kit allows students to creatively explore solar lanterns and electrical storage. These kits come with a variety of materials to explore concepts around solar energy and storage while constructing a fully functional solar lantern that they conceptualize and create. This kit comes with lesson plans and ideas for creatively using these kits with students.
This kit was developed by Pam Ulicny in partnership with KidWind. Pam has a dream to empower all students across the globe with safer, cleaner solar energy. To help further this mission, we will donate 5% of all Solar Lantern Kit sales towards providing photovoltaic lanterns to disadvantaged communities or unhoused individuals.
KIT DETAILS: The STARTER PACK comes with enough materials to construct two solar lanterns. The CLASSPACK pack comes with enough materials to construct ten solar lanterns.
NOTE: The STARTER PACK comes with two kinds of circuit boards; a “no-solder” style that uses clip or screw style connectors to construct and a solder style circuit board. The CLASSPACK can be purchased with ‘No Solder’ or ‘Solder’ style boards. No soldering equipment is included.
