KidWind Fellows Program

The KidWind Fellows Cohort is a group of KidWind alumni in college who virtually support students preparing for KidWind Challenges. The Fellows Program is a unique opportunity for graduated KidWinders to continue their KidWind experience and share their expertise with younger students.

Virtual visits with Fellows and the educational video content they produce are great resources for coaches and their teams as they prepare for KidWind Challenges!

Tinker Talks

Short-form content the Fellows developed breaking down the technical elements of wind turbine and solar home design, as well as how to prepare for the World KidWind Challenge. These bite sized videos are great for students preparing for Challenges looking to improve their designs!

Tinker Times

Hands-on hour-long sessions where the Fellows break down the nuts and bolts of wind and solar technologies. From blade design to gear ratios, each video focuses on a different element of competition-ready design.

Fellows Projects

KidWind Fellows provide virtual guidance to teams participating in KidWind Challenges and create content to share with KidWinders, taking a deep dive into technical components of designing a wind turbine or solar home.

Virtual Visits with KidWind Teams

Fellows meet virtually with teams preparing for a KidWind Challenge. Students come prepared with questions and Fellows use their wind turbine and solar home knowledge to help guide their project development.

Short Form Content

The Fellows research, plan, and record educational video content exploring KidWind Challenge components to help students improve their wind turbines and solar homes.

Worlds Support

The Fellows join the KidWind team at Worlds to assist with wind tunnel testing and support teams as they navigate competition elements. Worlds is a great opportunity for KidWind teams to meet the Fellows, and high school seniors to learn about the Cohort.
