The Kansas KidWind Challenge is a hands-on, STEM competition. Student teams design and build a small-scale wind turbine and bring it to a challenge event where turbines will be tested for power output. Teams also meet with a panel of judges to present their design process and demonstrate their contextual knowledge, tackle an instant challenge activity, and complete a knowledge quiz.In 2027, the Kansas KidWind Challenges includes six Regional Challenges that serve as qualifying events for the Kansas State KidWind Challenge. Register for the Regional Challenge that works best for your team. Top performing teams from each Regional Challenge will advance to the Kansas State KidWind Challenge held on Saturday, April 3rd.
